About Charisma Nicholas
Charisma Nicholas is registered by the state of Florida as Mental Health Therapist and Certified Addiction Professional. She holds a Bachelors of Art Degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida and a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from NOVA Southeastern University. Ms. Nicholas has been in the Mental Health and Addiction field for over 5 years and has worked with a diverse background with various populations that includes individuals suffering from trauma, family conflicts, addiction, depression, anxiety, grief/loss and severe mental health illnesses.
Charisma, uses an integrative approach to Individual therapy by meeting clients where they are at with the notion that "every client is unique". She also uses an Experiential therapeutic approach towards group therapy that operates on the belief that inner conflict within a person can be healed through mimicking real-life experiences; thus creating group cohesion and a sense of belongingness. Charisma is also trained in various modalities in treating co-occurring disorders in which she specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindful meditation along with other mindfulness techniques and Motivational Interviewing.
Charisma enjoys growing as a professional in the field and is currently working towards becoming certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a psychotherapy approach that has been proven to be effective for treating individuals with past trauma. She enjoys facilitating growth by empowering others to reach their full potential through exemplifying compassion, authenticity and openness. Ms. Nicholas published her first book entitled; “21 Tears Of A Phoenix” in March of 2018; which is a collection of poems that aspires to normalize feelings and evoke emotional change in others. Ms. Nicholas enjoys volunteering her time helping teenagers who suffer from psychological and mental problems, with a number of nonprofit treatment centers such as His House and Concept House which are both located in Miami, Fl. Along with volunteering with the above mentioned organizations, Ms. Nicholas also enjoys volunteering at a local suicide hotline to help others who are in crisis.
