About Nelson McCoy 

Nelson McCoy was born and raised in Los Angeles California. Upon completing high school he received an Academic scholarship to the great Bethune-Cookman College now known as Bethune-Cookman University in 1999. While attending BCU Nelson joined Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. and became a member of Sigma Tau Delta English Honors Society.

After graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English, Mr. McCoy began working as a case manager for Community Based Care in Daytona Beach. In 2004 he moved to Jacksonville, Fl where he continued working as a case manager for Jewish Families and community Service until 2006 when he switched careers and became an educator.

In 2008 Mr. McCoy furthered his education at The University of North Florida, where he obtained a Master of Education degree in Secondary Education. After teaching in the Duval County Public Schools system for 7 years, as a full time and substitute teacher, he
founded a non-profit that offers holistic College Preparation services. He is the current Executive Director and founder of The Center, One Foundation Inc.

His personal life is based around his family as he is a father to three children, a husband and a surrogate father to several others. It is in this area of life that he is most proud of and feels he has had the most success.
