Short Term-

Short term plan is to continue to create visibility through attendance. This weekend was chosen specifically because it is a weekend where all alumni will be returning for general homecoming festivities. Typically a Black Alumni Weekend would fall on a weekend separate from a homecoming weekend, but to increase our visibility with the UNF Alumni Association, campus leadership and to help draw eyes to organizations like the NPHC, BSU, NAACP and other minority based organizations, we chose this weekend to start the process. Based on the surveys we've received and because there is a growing need for a formal meeting, we're looking to schedule a Black Alumni general meeting for the fall of 2018.

Long Term-

Long term plan is to maintain our Wednesday - Sunday event schedule for the next three years. Additionally, we want to create a Black Alumni Ball, with the intent of recognizing minority alumni who have been making a significant impact on society since graduating from the university. Finally, we also want to establish an endowment that provides scholarships to top tier minority students in Florida to help drive interest of the “premier minority students” to the University of North Florida.
